9) You took part in Nelly’s tour. Could you share your impressions?
It’s such an exhilarating experience to attend Nelly’s concert, to be a fan and to sing all of the words to the songs and at the same time being so proud of the performer you know so well….
Your own sister!! The shows are intense and watching it take place before your eyes and backstage without people freaking out amazes me. Her crew are Zen and faultless at what they do. It is incredible to witness it unfold each night in a different city. Every crowd has a personality and every show is different.
10) Do you often state your opinions about your sister’s creative work/shows?
Yes, especially when I just watched a performance that took my breath away and I’ll text her to congratulate her and say how much I loved it. I have no idea how that makes her feel. On my birthday Nelly called me and told me that she finished reading my book, “Her Apparitions & Other Human Longings”. Completely crazy to me, Nelly said that she loved my book! She said it was shocking, creatively written and she didn’t want the story to end. She is a perfectionist and having her praise my work was the best birthday present she could have ever given to me.
